Brussels Airlines welcomes 11.4% more passengers in March 2011
Brussels Airlines registered 11.4% more passengers last month. Compared to the same month last year, there were more than 45,700 additional passengers carried on the European and African network of Brussels Airlines.
The growth in passenger numbers experienced already by Brussels Airlines in January and February continued into the month of March. In total, 446,401 passengers chose to fly Brussels Airlines in March, an increase of 11.4% compared to last year.
The occupancy on European flights increased by 4.5 percentage points. While the passenger number increased by 20%, the occupancy on African flights decreased due to the crisis in Ivory Coast as well as Easter not falling in March this year.
As in January and February, the passenger growth in March can be linked to the pricing policy, the higher number of seats available, and an increase in the number of transfer passengers.
