Brussels Airlines has renewed its catering partnership with  LSG Sky Chefs for a period of a further 5 years, after a tender process that focused on key criteria of quality, innovation, operations and costs. LSG Sky Chefs, the world’s largest provider of in-flight-services, is the confirmed catering logistics supplier across the Brussels Airlines network for medium/long haul business and economy, as well as b.flex economy+ and retail b.light economy catering needs.

In-flight product is of key importance to Brussels Airlines, and is a significant element in customer satisfaction. In the past the airline has won several awards in this field, and thus the tender process specifically required a partnership that could guarantee a high standard of quality and innovation and specific attention to product development and market trends. Value for money was also a key aspect, as this is an important element of Brussels Airlines’ offer to its customers.

Sole supplier

LSG Sky Chefs will be the sole supplier at the Brussels Airport home base for catering and catering logistics on board the Brussels Airlines fleet of 49 aircraft (+- 40.000 flights/year). This includes the food, drinks and duty free offer for all Brussels Airlines medium and long haul services and, on the European flight sector, the all inclusive catering for Brussels Airlines b.flex economy+ passengers, as well as  the retail concept for b.light economy passengers.

Brussels Airlines and LSG Sky Chefs have enjoyed a fruitful working relationship since 2002. This new contract will see them working together for another 5 years, with a renewed emphasis on achieving high levels of service excellence.

Philippe Vander Putten, CEO Brussels Airlines says: “This new catering supply contract will allow Brussels Airlines to continuously optimise and extend our product offering on board. We look forward to surprising and delighting our passengers already this summer with our new in-flight catering experience.”
“The award of this new and extended contract further solidifies our longstanding commitment to Brussels Airlines”, says LSG Sky Chefs CEO Walter Gehl. “We sincerely appreciate our customer's trust in LSG Sky Chefs and remain deeply committed to providing them the highest standards in service as well as real value for money. Additionally, we are confident that our innovative concepts will support Brussels Airlines' future growth plans."
