Brussels Airlines welcomes new Star Chef Glenn Verhasselt from two-star restaurant Sir Kwinten

Brussels, December 2, 2025 - Brussels Airlines is once again bringing a piece of Belgium to the skies and is proud to announce its new Star Chef: Glenn Verhasselt, chef at the two Michelin-starred restaurant Sir Kwinten in Lennik. From January 2026, Business Class passengers on long-haul flights will enjoy exclusive dishes created in collaboration with his team. With this partnership, Brussels Airlines aims to offer its passengers an authentic Belgian gastronomic experience, focusing on local products and innovative flavors.

Glenn Verhasselt, chef at the renowned Sir Kwinten restaurant in Lennik (Flemish Brabant), will be Brussels Airlines' new Star Chef from January 2026. He will be the sixteenth Star Chef, succeeding Arabelle Meirlaen.

Chef Verhasselt is known for his refined Belgian cuisine with a creative touch, focusing on seasonal ingredients and local products. Sir Kwinten has two Michelin stars and is one of the absolute best in Belgian gastronomy.

The young chef's list of achievements includes titles such as 'Young Top Chef of Flanders' (2020) and, more recently, 'Chef of the Year 2025' according to Gault&Millau. Since November this year, Glenn Verhasselt is also Provost of the Chefs of the renowned Gastronomic Club Prosper Montagné.

Glenn created an exclusive menu for Brussels Airlines Business Class on long-haul flights, combining his renowned style with Belgian classics and innovative techniques. The menu will consist of a selection of starters, main courses, and desserts that will change every three months.

As always, the wines – for which Brussels Airlines has already won several awards – and Belgian beers have been carefully selected by experts: Master of Wine Jan De Clercq and beer sommelier Sofie Vanrafelghem. Bruut Festive 2022 from the Bruut Winery in Gooik will also be served on board. The cheeses were selected by Van Tricht.

Star Chef on board since 2013
Brussels Airlines' Star Chef program has become a tradition. Since 2013, the airline has been working with Belgian Michelin-starred chefs to create a unique experience for its Business Class passengers on intercontinental flights. Each chef develops a three-course menu inspired by Belgian products and seasonal ingredients.

This year once again, Chef Raymond Slosse of Gate Gourmet translated the menu into a culinary experience on board, with each dish revealing its rich flavors and refinement even high above the clouds.
