Rwandair Express and Brussels Airlines sign codeshare partnership
Since the beginning of the summer season 2009, Rwandair Express and Brussels Airlines offer codeshare flights between Kigali and Brussels. Rwanda’s national airline now sells tickets on flights to the European capital, operated by the Belgian carrier. This way, Rwandair perfectly penetrates the Belgian market and Brussels Airlines reinforces its position on the African market.
Rwandair Express and Brussels Airlines are offering codeshare flights between Belgium and Rwanda since Tuesday 31 March. For Rwandair Express, this codeshare agreement means a perfect penetration into the European market. This agreement does not only mean a direct connection between Brussels and Kigali, it also offers numerous possibilities for connections to other African and European destinations through Kigali or Brussels.
This new partnership with a local Rwandan airline clearly shows how important the African and, more specific, the Rwandan market is for Brussels Airlines. The Belgian airline is delighted with this agreement and hopes that it will tighten the relationship with Rwanda. Also, this agreement reinforces Brussels Airlines position as one of the major players on the African market.
The commercial deal between Brussels Airlines and Rwandair Express enables the Rwandan airline to sell 10 seats in economy class (as a marketing carrier) on all 3 weekly flights between Kigali and Brussels, operated by Brussels Airlines. This offers Rwandair clients the flexibility of booking online or buying tickets through any of the Rwandair offices in Eastern or Southern Africa and fly out to Brussels direct from Kigali on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This agreement also reinforces the presence of Brussels Airlines on the Rwandan market.
All 3 weekly codeshare flights will be operated by the Belgian airline with one of their 4 Airbuses 330-300 under a SN and a WB flight code.
