Brussels Airlines official airline of the Belgian Red Devils
Brussels Airlines has a heart for the Belgian athletes. Over the past years, the airline has flown Belgian athletes, basketball players, cyclists, golfers, volleyball players and football teams from the National League to European or world competitions abroad thanks to a close collaboration with sports clubs and federations. As of today Brussels Airlines will also reserve seats on board their flights for the country's most popular sports team: The Red Devils.
Brussels Airlines flight SN2014
The partnership, which was concluded between the Belgian Football Association and Brussels Airlines today, means that the Red Devils choose Brussels Airlines for all their travels the next years. Therefore, on 10 June, Brussels Airlines will fly to São Paulo for the first time in its history, to bring the Red Devils to the world cup. The specially created flight "SN2014" has 150 seats available for fans to fly together with the players and to go to all the world cup matches the Red Devils play. For this purpose, a special travel package, including flights and entrance tickets to the matches, has been created that will be available for sale as from mid-March. Fans can already register at brusselsairlines.com/sn2014 to get more information.
Next to the world cup, The Red Devils will also board a Brussels Airlines aircraft when flying to the European Championship qualifiers in Israel, Cyprus, Andorra, Bosnia and Wales and hopefully also for Euro 16 in France. For these matches, the airline will also offer fans the chance to follow their team abroad.
European flights
The partnership also means that the many Devils who play for a team abroad will fly Brussels Airlines to Brussels when coming home. The Brussels Airlines crews will welcome for example Thibaut Courtois and Toby Alderweireld on Madrid flights. Radja Nainggolan will fly regularly between Rome and Brussels Airport with the airline, Steven Defour will fly regularly from Porto, Christian Benteke from Birmingham, Axel Witsel from Moscow and Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Vincent Kompany and Simon Mignolet will fly regularly between Manchester and Brussels. The other Belgian national football teams, like the Belgian Red Flames (women’s team) and the national youth team of the RBFA, will fly Brussels Airlines as well.
At the occasion of the partnership, a third Brussels Airlines aircraft (an Airbus A330) will be painted in Red Devils colors.
"We are obviously incredibly proud that we are at the kick off of a unique partnership with the Red Devils. Together with the Belgian Football Association, we want to bring the fans closer to their favorite team. At Brussels Airlines we have already begun to cheer for the Red Devils for the world cup in Brazil. "
-- Lars Redeligx, Chief Commercial Officer, Brussels Airlines
“We are extremely happy to announce this structural cooperation with Brussels Airlines, the Belgian national airline. It has great value to us, as the national football teams, to fly with our national airline. Both organizations share the same values and with our teams we try to be good ambassadors for our country and the companies we partner up with. Together with Brussels Airlines we will work on initiatives to bring our supporters to the matches abroad. This partnership only reinforces the dynamics surrounding the national teams and it will help to elevate Belgian football to an even higher level.”
