Brussels Airlines opens pop-up lounge for premium passengers during THE LOFT renovation

A brand-new lounge is scheduled to open by the end of summer 2026

Brussels, December 15, 2025 – Brussels Airlines will open a pop-up lounge at Brussels Airport as of January 7 and extend the opening hours of its Sunrise Lounge. THE LOFT, the airline’s award-winning lounge in the A-zone of Brussels Airport, will close for an extensive renovation. With the Pop-up LOFT and the extended opening hours of the Sunrise Lounge, premium passengers will continue to enjoy comfortable facilities until the renovated lounge opens its doors.

Brussels Airlines is making a significant investment in its premium passenger experience with a full makeover of THE LOFT, its flagship award-winning lounge in the A-zone of Brussels Airport. The lounge will close in January and is set to reopen by the end of summer 2026. More details about the renewed LOFT will be shared in due course.

To maintain its premium offering during the renovation, Brussels Airlines has developed two temporary solutions.

Introducing the Pop-up LOFT

Near gate A27 at Brussels Airport, Brussels Airlines will open a temporary version of its renowned lounge: the Pop-up LOFT. The space, measuring approximately 200 m², has been designed as a comfortable temporary lounge and can accommodate up to 67 guests at a time. The Pop-up LOFT was designed by branding agency We Want More and fully embraces the updated Brussels Airlines branding.

The Pop-up LOFT will be open daily from 05 AM till 09 PM. Due to the limited space, this Pop Up lounge will focus on a smaller but premium choice of food and beverages only. All food options are also available on-the-go to enjoy elsewhere in the airport.

Extended opening hours for the Sunrise Lounge

Also in the A-zone of Brussels Airport, Brussels Airlines operates the Sunrise Lounge, normally open to Business Class passengers traveling to sub-Saharan Africa. Usually, this lounge closes at 1:00 PM. During the renovation of THE LOFT, however, the Sunrise Lounge will also reopen daily from 3:00 PM to 8:45 PM. The Sunrise Lounge can accommodate up to 150 passengers.

“We are very excited about the makeover of THE LOFT and can’t wait to present the result to the public later. In the meantime, we’ve worked on temporary solutions to ensure our premium passengers continue to enjoy the best possible service during the renovation. We hope they will appreciate the Pop-up LOFT, and we’re confident that anticipation will only grow as we prepare to reveal the new LOFT.”

Yves Bernaerts, Lounge Manager, Brussels Airlines

Despite the temporary solutions, Brussels Airlines will offer considerably less lounge capacity during the renovation. Therefore, no lounge access will be sold separately during the renovation, and Brussels Airlines will temporarily not accept third party guests in its lounge. These changes will be reverted as soon as the renovated lounge will open its doors by the end of Summer 2026.
