Brussels Airlines reports 68 million euros Adjusted EBIT for the third quarter
The outlook of the full year results remains positive

Brussels, October 30, 2025 - Brussels Airlines announces an Adjusted EBIT of 68 million euros, which is a 14% decrease compared to the third quarter 2024. During the peak summer season, the European network performed financially very well, whilst the sub-Saharan African destinations remained below expectations. Despite facing significant external disruptions, the airline remains confident in a solid positive result for the full year.
During the third quarter of 2025, which traditionally is the strongest period of the year, Brussels Airlines transported almost 2.8 million passengers on close to 20,000 flights. Passenger numbers rose by 12% compared to the same period last year, and the total number of operated flights increased by 14%.
July and August delivered exceptional financial performance across the European network, with revenues surpassing last year’s level. This growth was driven by robust leisure travel and sustained demand across key destinations.
In contrast, Sub-Saharan Africa underperformed: a series of cancellations – some of them beyond the airline’s control – inhibited the full utilization of the 11th long-haul aircraft. This negatively impacted the financial results of the region.
September was notably impacted by a weaker demand and the cyberattack of Collins Aerospace affecting several major European airports including Brussels Airport, which considerably disrupted operations and eventually also led to cancellations.
All these factors led to an Adjusted EBIT in the third quarter of 68 million euros, representing a 14% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.

Looking ahead, the national manifestations continue to pose a challenge. With six major events already this year - including the one from October 14 - Brussels Airlines estimates over 100,000 passengers have been affected, resulting in a financial burden of about 14 million euros. The airline reiterates its call for alternative solutions that allow continued investment in its people, operations, and passengers.
“I want to sincerely thank all our colleagues for their incredible commitment throughout this challenging summer. Their resilience and teamwork ensured that we were able to serve our passengers with care, even when faced with unexpected disruptions.
Despite the headwinds, we remain optimistic. Brussels Airlines is on track to complete 2025 with a positive result for the third consecutive year, a testament to the strength of our strategy and the dedication of our teams.”
