Miles & More: Brussels Airlines new Loyalty Programme

At the end of October 2009 Brussels Airlines’ frequent flyer programme Privilege will be replaced by the Miles & More programme of the Lufthansa Group. This change will enable the Brussels Airlines customers to benefit from even more advantages offered through the many programme partners, airlines and others. Privilege miles will be simply transferred into Miles & More miles and current Privilege card holders will receive an equivalent member status within Miles & More.

This introduction into Miles & More is a further step in the partnership between Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa, that was already reinforced in the beginning of the summer season through a frequent flyer programme tie-in and a codeshare agreement between both carriers.

Over the next coming days the Privilege members will be informed about the suspension of their current loyalty programme. At the same time, they will be invited to enrol to the Miles & More programme. Once their account is created, their Privilege miles will be transferred into the Miles & More programme. The Gold and Platinum members will receive respectively the Miles & More Frequent Traveller and the Miles & More Senator status. The validity of the miles earned will be extended with 3 years and the members’ status with 2 years.

In the future Brussels Airlines will be the point of contact for all Miles & More members and partners in Belgium. All newly registered members will receive their new frequent flyer card in the course of September and will be able to start enjoying the many benefits as from end of October whilst their miles will be transferred early November. Until then the Privilege card remains valid to earn and burn miles. The Privilege members can already earn and redeem miles when flying on Lufthansa and SWISS International Air Lines, as the Miles & More card holders do on Brussels Airlines.

This entrance into Miles & More is for Brussels Airlines an important step in its integration in Star Alliance. Once member of this commercial alliance, Brussels Airlines will be able to offer its loyal customers a broader range of benefits offered by Star Alliance, which counts 24 airlines. The world’s largest commercial airline alliance offers 912 destinations in 159 countries and access to over 800 airport lounges worldwide.
