Exactly five years ago, on 9 December 2009, Brussels Airlines became member of Star Alliance, the world’s largest global airline alliance . Thanks to its adherence, Brussels Airlines expanded its network with several new destinations and Brussels Airport became an important Star Alliance hub.

Frankfurt, GERMANY – Star Alliance, the way the Earth connects, has added a further fare product for customers to explore additional islands in the Pacific Ocean. With the Micronesia Airpass, passengers can purchase up to 10 flights on the Continental Airlines and United network across Micronesia, all in a single ticket at an attractive price. Travel on the Micronesia Airpass can commence from any Star Alliance destination in Japan, as well as from Cairns, Guam, Hong Kong, Manila, Nadi, Palau or Saipan and is available only in conjunction with an international Star Alliance flight into any of these destinations.

Star Alliance launches brand campaign on biosphere connections

Star Alliance adds Air Canada, TAM and US Airways to upgrade awards product

Frankfurt, GERMANY – Frequent flyers on the Star Alliance network can now also use their miles to upgrade when travelling on Air Canada, TAM and US Airways. These member carriers are now participating in the unique Star Alliance Upgrade Awards programme, the redemption option enabling customers to use miles or points from their Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) accounts for one-class upgrades on scheduled flights operated by the participating Star Alliance member carriers.

Avianca-Taca and Copa Airlines to join Star Alliance

In addition to the Round-the-World Fare, all Star Alliance Circle Fares can now be booked and purchased on www.staralliance.com. This allows customers to plan their journeys from the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Bookings can be made anywhere in the world, with tickets being automatically issued electronically. The booking engine is currently available in English and Japanese, with further languages to be added at a future stage.

About Brussels Airlines
